March 24th Update

Hi all, I just wanted to update everyone on HPG&B's progress on a number of the issues that we discussed on our recent conference call.
First, Jeremy Taub has volunteered to coordinate the alumni mentoring program (AMP). Jeremy envisions this as similar to the big brother/little brother model that the chapter runs, except this program will pair an alum with an upperclassman in the chapter. He will be writing up a more detailed description for everyone and recruiting alumni volunteers who would like to participate. I hope that everyone responds, as it is a great way to get involved.
Second, we are finalizing plans for alumni weekend and once all of the logistics are finalized, Dan Levy will be sending out a full schedule, including a BBQ with the chapter on Saturday, Greek Sing, and a trip to a hookah bar afterwards.
Third, we are starting to plan for full scale elections for the HPG&B board of directors this June at alumni weekend. we are figuring out how to coordinate a proxy ballot so that members can vote even if they can't make it in June (though everyone should come if they can). Remember, to vote you must be a member ($1 fee for lifetime membership) and to be a director you much be an executive member ($30 in cumulative donations since last alumni weekend - all past donations can count towards this if you want) . I'll be sending out a full description of elections in the next few weeks. We will also be selecting a full slate of officers in June in addition to the directors, so there are plenty of ways to get involved, and if you can't wait until June and want to help out now, email me and we can figure something out.
Best,
Daniel

Alumni Weekend, Convention, Mentorship Program

Dear Alumni,

The chapter hasn't updated this in a while. Its supposed to be for alumni anyway, so from now on Hyde Park Gold & Blue, the chapter's alumni corporation, will be updating this blog. The chapter will also make contributions from time to time.

Last night HPG&B had a very successful conference call. A lot of alumni called in and we discussed the future of HPG&B. Some things all alumni should know about are:

Mentorship Program
Hyde Park Gold & Blue is starting an alumni mentoring program to work with current 3rd and 4th year brothers to help them start their careers on the right foot. Alumni will be paired with a brother of similar interests. Please contact Daniel Arking (daniel.arking@gmail.com) if you'd like to get involved or for more information.

AEPi National Convention
The national convention is in Chicago this summer Aug. 6-10. Since its in our home town, as many alumni should come as possible. This is a great chance to catch up with eachother and see the chapter.
